performed by 30 Alba students aged 5-17

The Woods, Hallhill, Dunbar

ONE PERFORMANCE ONLY - 22 June 2006

2003-2004

The community wing of Theatre Alba produced three plays at the Loretto School, Musselburgh:

Live like Pigs by John Arden
Chamber Music by Arthur Kopit
The Pilgrimage by Paul Goetzee

Live Like Pigs
by John Arden
was Arden's first full-length play to be given a public production. About two families who represent two very different and incompatible ways of life: the Jacksons and the Sawneys, the play shows Arden's undoubted care for social issues. This was without doubt the most difficult of the plays undertaken by Alba's Leisure Group since its conception in the 1990's.

is a wonderful play and a tremendous exercise in ensemble playing. Set in a mental asylum, it was written in the 1960's when writing throughout the western world was at its most creative.
